Luscious Lace
Is my poem in iambic pentameter?
A precious woman from Emerald High,
Spanish she spoke, and never let out a sigh.
She had sparkling eyes and luscious blonde hair
She taught with all her might and helped with care
Profe always has a smile on her face,
Her clothes are made of luxurious lace.
She has been many times to Spain and back,
Seen flamencos and a cat that was black;
Traveled well and lives prosperous in life.
Adoring mother she is, and a wife.
In class she liked to laugh and teach
Role model she is, and never out of reach.
She had a passion in life, George Clooney;
He makes people smile when life is gloomy.
Profe’s appearance was never a mess,
As if she was a queen wearing a dress.
She taught at her throne, as a well loved friend.
And to us students she would most kindly tend.
how can i fix it? I know my tense's are not right. How can i fix it, while keeping it in iambic pentameter?
Nio, I think (as most people would read it) it's not in iambic pentameter. Few of the lines are actually in any traditional meter. Line four is a good example of iambic pentameter.
