Cincher Corset
What size waist cincher should I get? (It's kind of like a corset)?
My regular waist size is 36 inches & the smallest part of my waist is 29 inches.I'm getting one from ebay and they range like this:
Medium measures Appx 25 1/2 inches.
Size Large measures Appx. 27' inches.
Size XL measures Appx. 29" inches.
Size 2X measures appx. 32" inches.
I'm confused because I read on a corset site you should get a size that's 6 inches below your waist measurement.So can anyone please tell me what size I should get?
This all depends on how much cinching you want/your corset is capable of, and how much back you'd like to show in the gap.
So, first decide how much cinching you want and if your corset is capable of doing that. Rigid steel boned corset typically can cinch 4-6 inches, spiral steel boned can cinch 2-4 inches, plastic boned only 1-2 inches.
Once you have that worked out decide how much of a gap you'd like between the laces when laced to your liking. Corsets should have a gap of at least 1 inch, but you can do more if you are ordering a steel boned corset.
Once you have that you can calculate your size - eg: 36" (waist) - 2"(gap) - 4"(cinch) = 30"
