How many years of ballet do you need to get into pointe?
I started dance last year I take Jazz Tap and Hip hop I would always watch the ballet and pointe classes i thought they were interesting and i just wanted to know if jazz would help a little bit with ballet since some things are similar and if i should start next year please give me answers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im 12 years old... and on pointe got on when i was 9, almost 10 :]
Ive had 6 years of really good ballet training and im on a dance team.
i would say AT LEAST 3 years of serious ballet training, because you can seriously damage your feet if you go on pointe and arent ready. So depending on how old you are, if you start ballet now you can be on pointe in about 3 years:] you cant rush it, you have to be ready, ballet is very challening and requires you to be hardworking and deticated.
